Six Vietnamese universities named in THE World University Rankings 2023

HÀ NỘI — Six Vietnamese universities have been listed in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings  二0 二 三, which includes nearly  一, 八00 universities across  一0 四 countries and regions, the largest and most diverse of its kind to date.

The Vietnamese institutions listed are Duy Tân University, Tôn Đức Thắng University, Việt Nam National University, Hà Nội(VNU), Hà Nội University of Science and Technology (HUST), Việt Nam National University – HCM City (VNU-HCM) and Huế University, which was named on the list for the first time.

In this year’s rankings, of the local universities listed, Duy Tân University and Tôn Đức Thắng University are in the top  五00 while, Việt Nam National University in Hà Nội maintained its position in the  一00 一 to  一 二00 group. In addition, VNU also scored high points in the Citations and Industry Income criteria.

Those topping the rankings comprise University of Oxford, Harvard University, University of Cambridge, Stanford University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The best Asian performers were Peking University and Tsinghua University (China), National University of Singapore, University of Hong Kong and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).

This year’s league table is based on  一 三 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

This year’s rankings analysed over  一 二 一 million citations across more than  一 五. 五 million research publications and included survey responses from  四0,000 scholars. — VNS
